Have you ever looked back at younger photos of yourself and thought…”was that really me?!”
As time passes and we grow older, we often become more conscious of how we look, sometimes even insecurities start appearing, and what a better way to fight all these negative feelings than treating ourselves to a “makeover”.
Here is where creative men like Christopher Hopkins come along to help us win our self-confidence back. The Makeover Guy as he’s broadly known to people around the country, Christopher Hopkins is the go-to man when you are a woman in need of a change!
Hopkins holds many professional titles, on his YouTube Channel he describes himself as “an entrepreneur, entertainer, cyber-star, author, and appearance aficionado”, but he’s mostly known for the dramatic real makeovers he hosts on his YouTube Channel, of men and women from around the world.
In his videos, he interviews the women before and after his session with them. Not only does he change their hairstyle, but he shares tips and advice on how to apply correctly their makeup and what would suit them the best.
One of his videos was particularly successful and with an emotional flair, we could say, as he had a surprise from his past. Hopkins was called to give a makeover to one of his high school girlfriends! The video was a success, accumulating more than 800K views, with a string of praising messages over the woman’s “After” look!
Kari and Christopher hadn’t seen each other for many years, but back in high school they were very close, they used to hang out all the time, even working at the same place. Christopher used to do Kari’s hair believe it or not back then too!
At present, Kari’s hair was permed with a brassy blonde color and her hairstyle wasn’t doing much to compliment her face, on the contrary, it was giving her a rather “sad” look.
Christopher explained to Kari that her hair was quite thin on one side. So, he needed to do something to give it a younger and fuller look.
“We can update you, honey”, Christopher told to Kari which made her, in return, regain her confidence and leave herself fully in Christopher’s magical hands! The idea was to create a look that Kari could manage herself easily.
Christopher also shared Kari’s senior class picture as he was the one that prepared her on that day too, by doing her hair and makeup. Kari also revealed that he used to help her prepare for many of their dates as well.
Once the “makeover” was finished and we were shown the final result, we were left open-mouthed! Kari’s hair was now colored a beautiful natural blonde, it was cut shorter and had some fresh layers that gave Kari a fresher and more youthful appearance. Her makeup was in natural tones, giving her a softer look.
Although everyone had seen what was happening during the makeover session and the big reveal, Kari was oblivious to her own transformation until she was handed a hand mirror.
And of course, upon looking at her reflection, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing! She looked GORGEOUS!
What would be a more appropriate ending to a day full of surprises than dancing? When the session was over, Christopher and Kari started dancing just like two high-schoolers, exactly as they used to do in the past!
