Relationship guru Mat Boggs bravely answers the question for us: “How do men feel when they are in love?”

Boggs dug into the research used by Dr. Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist, to create her book “Why We Love.’ He learned that everyone gets a rush of neurochemicals like dopamine and seratonin that puts people in a euphoric state of being.

They are broken down into 7 feelings:

1. Our thoughts are magnetized to you.

The vast majority of men say you dominate his thinking. His mind automatically magnetizes to you while at work. Eighty percent of the day is consumed with thoughts of the woman that he loves.

2. He feels a surge of energy.

He feels this sense of aliveness. All of life becomes brighter, a bit more vivid and technicolor if you will. You feel amazing. It’s connected to you just like the movie Limitless. When we’re in love, we get the rush of chemicals that heighten our awareness and everything becomes more technicolor with you in it.

3. He analyzes your actions.

Men report that, when intensely attracted to a woman, he analyzes her actions, moves, etc. to see if she reciprocates his actions. When he’s totally into you, what does she mean by this text? Does she like me like I like her?

4. He priorities you.

Men are strategic in keeping their calendars open in case the woman that he loves is available to hang out with him. There are feminine qualities and actions to emulate his masculine attractions for you.

5. His emotions are tied to your emotions.

If you’re happy, he’s happy. If you’re not feeling good, you’re sad, frustrated, angry, his emotions get pulled down as well. The greatest marriages across the country involving men married 50, 60, 70 years. They all say, “If mama’s happy, everybody’s happy. If mamma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”

6. He daydreams about having sex with you.

Seventy-three percent of men report daydreaming about having sex with you. Maybe the other ones don’t want to admit it but the huge majority admit what separates friendship from romantic passion is that romantic attraction. By the time he sleeps with you, he’s already fantasized about it.

7. He is willing to fight for you.

When they are in love with you, they will climb the highest mountain, swim across the seas. He will move heaven and earth to be with you and he’s willing to face difficult situations, he’s willing to fight for the relationship if it’s gotten off track. It’s really hard to screw up a good thing. When it’s the right guy, you don’t have to walk on eggshells. If the relationship hits a bump, you’re going to fight for that relationship and fight for one another.

Those feel-good chemicals only last for 18 months, which typically is referred to as the honeymoon phase. But if you want to be in a long-term relationship, how do you keep that vibe going? You’ll have to watch Boggs’ video to learn more.
