What do you think you’d need to do to look half your age? Get a facelift? Or simply be born with magic genes?

It can be pretty hard to accept that you’re getting older. Of course, aging is a natural process that happens to us all – but if we could still look like we were in our thirties when we were nearly twice that age, we’d take it!

Four women appeared on Doctor Oz to share their secrets about looking young – and you wouldn’t believe their real ages.

The show used a cutting-edge scanning device that revealed the womens’ skin was younger than them – but how?

First up is 45-year-old Noreen.

The show’s skin scanner revealed that her skin age was 26 – almost 20 years younger than she is!

Noreen, who has a 21-year-old son, enjoys plenty of anti-inflammatory foods, and says her diet is the main reason for her young-looking skin.

If you thought there was no way that Noreen could be 45, just wait until you meet the next guest.

Meli is 50 years old – and honestly, she looks around 30. There’s not a single wrinkle on her face – so unsurprisingly, the skin-scanner revealed that her skin’s real age is 35.

So, what’s Meli’s secret?

She makes a facial out of sunflower oil and evening primrose oil and massages this into her face after a hot shower.

Her second piece of advice is to try the “no-pain, no gain” technique – uh-oh! This involved dunking your face in a big bowl of ice water every morning for 10-15 seconds.

We’re getting a little older with the next guest, who’s 59 years old.

Candace might be nearly 60, but the skin scanner determined that her skin’s real age is actually 41. Impressive!

She says she’s surprised by the skin scanner results, but Candace has a few tricks up her sleeve for maintaining her skin health. She drinks a spicy wheatgrass shot every morning – which doesn’t look like it tastes too good, but if you can get results like Candace, it might just be worth it!

We’ve saved the best ’til last – you won’t believe how old the final guest is.

Vera is 71, which is absolutely unbelievable, considering she doesn’t have a single wrinkle on her face. Her skin’s real age is 52 – 19 years younger than she really is!

Vera’s secret is perhaps the simplest of them all: stewed prunes. Apparently, because of their effect on the digestive system, they prevent you from having a “constipated face”.

She’s actually right – if you have poor gut health, you’re more likely to have dull skin and suffer skin conditions like acne. Considering we’re all looking for that youthful glow, Vera’s secret does make sense!

There are plenty of other ways to reduce skin aging, if you think these methods are a little wacky.

Avoiding sunlight is an obvious one.

Make sure you protect your face with SPF every day, and use a self-tanner instead of tanning under the sun. Cleanse your skin and use a moisturizer every day.

Many of the tips for maintaining youthful skin will help improve your overall health, such as eating a healthy diet, reducing your alcohol intake, and exercising daily.
