Most of us enjoy listening to music wherever we are- at home, in the office, or in our cars. Some of us, though, don’t just limit themselves to just listening; some actually dance to the music, too.

Of course, when we are at home, it makes sense that we listen to a song we like or any upbeat song really, and feel an urge to dance along. However, not all of us have the habit of dancing in our cars to random songs.

But what makes us feel the need to dance anyway?

According to experts,

“Humans dance because dance is human. Dance is not an accidental or supplemental activity in which humans choose to engage or not. Dance is essential to our survival as human beings.”

Movement is inextricably linked to human nature, so it is only natural that when the music plays, people want to dance without realizing why.

The benefits of dancing are numerous and should not be underestimated.

Dancing is good for the brain, body, and heart in so many different ways.

First of all, it is obvious that when you dance you will probably burn some calories and this is beneficial to your body and shape. So far so good, but how does dancing benefit the brain and our mental health altogether?

Researchers have concluded that when people dance their body appears to have lower cortisol levels. Given that cortisol is a stress hormone, it is clear that dancing reduces stress and promotes relaxation and happiness.

So, it’s okay to dance anywhere, right?

Well, not quite. Dancing in your car and doing trending car dancing challenges might not be a good idea. Driving is to be taken seriously and drivers need to realize that driving and dancing cannot be safely combined.

But, what about dancing in a non-moving car? That’s a completely different story and there’s nothing wrong with that, as long as your car is parked or has stopped moving for that matter.

Like the woman in the video below, who started dancing in her car and had no idea she was being filmed.

The young woman was in her car with her dog in the passenger seat. At some point, a song she liked- apparently- went on, and she thought it would be a good idea to dance “like nobody’s watching”, but she was wrong.

The guy in the car next to hers saw she was turning on the music and started filming because he knew something interesting was about to go down.

“I was sitting in my car, playing my game, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw this girl kept moving, but I had caught the end,” he said. “I knew she was doing some type of dance, so I said to myself, “Oh, I gotta get this this gonna be good.” I then stared to record. As she was dancing, she looked over, and all I could do was bust out laughing.”

So, we can see the woman dancing to the music and feeling the beat, when she suddenly turns around and finds out she’s being filmed. While the man can’t hold back his laughter, the woman just hides her face because she knows she’s about to get viral.

And, indeed, she went viral with more than 400k views on YouTube.
